Jen & Andy, Fernhill Farm

In Conversation

Talk

Jen Hunter and partner Andrew Wear have together created a unique opportunity to develop a rural family business as the ‘Fernhill Farm Experience’, offering 20000 visitors / annum the opportunity to visit and stay on an award winning eco-farm.

Henry Rossiter, Belmont Estate Organic Farming

Regenerative Farming & Community Connection

Henry Rossiter – Talk

.Henry Rossiter is the Business Development Director at Belmont, a regenerative organisation just outside of Bristol with a mission of environmental restoration and the reconnection of people with food, nature, and themselves. Belmont aims to inspire community connection, restore biodiversity, and tackle climate change through nature-based connection, rewilding, regenerative and organic agriculture, and outdoor shared experiences.

Henry’s career started in farming at the age of 6 which quickly ignited his passion for food and nature.

John Meadley

Farming in conservation with Nature

John Meadley

Trained in agriculture, John Meadley has been working with rural communities in Asia, Africa and the Caribbean – including in areas of conflict – since 1968.  Becoming increasingly aware of the fragility of the planet and the absurdity of using much of the world’s grain to feed livestock, in 2009 he met two British farmers who were raising their cattle and sheep entirely on pasture.  They decided to work together to encourage other farmers to do the same.  From that conversation emerged the Pasture for Life movement

In 2020 he worked with Mambud Samai in Sierra Leone to develop Farming on Crutches, where amputees – who lost an arm or a leg to a machete or a bullet in the civil war – can learn to farm organically.

Kyle Richardville

Cooking Demos

Kyle Richardville – From Soil to Sustenance: The Power of Regenerative Agriculture

Kyle Richardville, raised on a multi-generational farm, has dedicated his life to exploring the link between soil health, nutrition, and food. With a background in agricultural research from institutions like Purdue and Texas A&M, he now educates and consults farmers on regenerative agriculture to rebuild soil health for a sustainable future.

At Fire In Your Soul, Kyle will lead daily demonstrations, offering hands-on insights into the journey from soil to plate, covering topics like bread, flour, and soil infiltration, and showing how land health shapes the food we eat.

The Community Farm

The Community Farm

The Community Farm

The Community Farm is a not-for-profit, social enterprise overlooking Chew Valley Lake.

Their mission is to get more people enjoying the benefits of a better food system so that local people and nature nourish each other and flourish together.

At our heart, we are an organic farm aiming to grow community alongside food. Every year we welcome almost 2,000 people onto the land for events, courses, and volunteering.

We share the food we have grown with community and nature, as well as food we have sourced from a network of other farmers and producers who share our values, including more than 30 producers in the South West. Every week we deliver to hundreds of households throughout Bristol, Bath and The Chew Valley.

We welcome everyone in the local area to join our community, either through sharing time on the land with us or through enjoying the freshly-grown, organic produce we have grown with community and nature.
